Ph.D. (Organisational Behavior)


Frank is the founder and president of Calypso Consulting, a firm dedicated to improving the level of leadership in China.  He is the former Chief Leadership Consultant, Greater China, for Aon Hewitt.  He is one of the foremost leadership consultants and executive coaches in China.  With over 30 years of management and human resources experience, he works with both Chinese and Western executives helping them to be successful leaders in China.  Frank has lived in China for seventeen years and is the retired president of Watson Wyatt China.  He also serves as a senior consultant and coach for MDS in Beijing and was formerly a leadership professor at Tsinghua University in Beijing and Tongji University in Shanghai.

Frank is the author of the highly acclaimed Business Leadership in China: How to Blend Best Western Practice with Chinese Wisdom, Revised Edition (John Wiley & Sons, 2010) and the Chinese language version, 中国商业领导力, (PHEI, 2011). His book, Chinese Professional-Global Mindset was published by PHEI in April 2013.  His latest books, The Enlightened Leader: Lessons from China on the Art of Executive Coaching, was published in 2015 and Multinational Companies in China was published in 2017. From 2003 to 2007 he was the Chair of the HR Forum of the American Chamber of Commerce in China and was Chair Emeritus until 2014. 

For most of the 1990s, Frank was with the Hay Group in Boston, New York and Atlanta.  Prior to Hay, Frank was a human resources executive at Wang Laboratories where he specialized in the design and measurement of reward programs. 

Frank holds a Bachelor's Degree from Hofstra University and a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from the Center for Applied Social Science at Boston University.
